About Dr. Hsu

I was born and raised in Southern California and speak English, Mandarin and Spanish. Before becoming an Orthodontist, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from UCLA. I went on to obtain a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree with honors from USC, where I was given the Deans Award for Outstanding Service and Commitment. I continued on at USC, attaining an Orthodontic Specialty certificate and a Master of Science degree in Craniofacial Biology (the study of jaw and facial growth). I’m now a Board Certified member of the American Board of Orthodontics, finally able to achieve my goal of making beautiful smiles and seeing my patients grow into wonderful and more confident individuals.

To continue helping students, I became a part-time Clinical Instructor at the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. And to stay current with new orthodontic technology and continuing education, I am an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, California Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and California Dental Association.

When I’m not straightening teeth, you can find me out doing weekend Charity and Fun Runs (and yes, even the occasional marathon), brushing up on my karate forms, and hiking, snowboarding and rafting everywhere. And at home, I love reading a good Stephen King book on my smart tablet, and relieving stress with video games. I also love taking my Chihuahua and Black Lab to dog beaches, parks and trails. It’s always a treasure when patients bump into me on these outings and tell me they still love their new smiles!
